Recently I was asked by the Daily Mirror for one of my top tips for looking young. Obviously a good skincare routine helps with plenty of fantastic products for use at home added to by regular salon treatments but – I’m a big advocate for making sure you treat yourself from the inside out as well.
Think of your skin as a canvas – if you haven’t prepared your canvas properly from the inside then you are making it so much harder for your skin to respond to products and treatments in the way you want them to.
So – my top tip for staying young is: Enjoy a Smoothie!
They were really in fashion a good few years ago but, these days, with so many pre-prepared varieties to buy in the shops not as many people seem to make them at home. Beware of those pre-prepared ones though – you’d be surprised how much sugar goes into them – and that’s never going to do you any favours.
Dig out your own blender from where ever it’s hidden away or bag yourself a bargain online and get smoothie!
My personal daily Secret Skincare Smoothie is a mixture of:
Spinach, kiwi, banana and unsweetened almond milk, Spinach is an excellent source of iron. Without it you can’t transport oxygen efficiently, which can leave you with pale skin. The vitamin C in kiwis helps make collagen for new skin cells and the vitamin E in almond milk protects the skin. You can buy almond milk in food shops and most of the supermarkets these days.
I like to keep mine nice and cold so adding some ice cubes is a great tip for making sure they taste great. I have mine at breakfast and look forward to it every day.
Give it a go and I bet you’ll feel fantastic within a week. What’s more – you and others will really notice the difference in your skin and eyes.
Let me know how you get on!BACK TO NEWS
